Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the ice breaking method on increasing the concentration and learning motivation of third grade students at SD Islam Cendikia Faiha Palembang. Problems that are often faced in the learning process are a decrease in focus and enthusiasm for learning. The research method used is Descriptive-Qualitative. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach with the aim of describing a learning process activity that has not implemented ice breaking and implementing ice breaking in third grade students at SD Islam Cendikia Faiha Palembang. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of ice breaking routinely and structured can significantly increase students' concentration and learning motivation. Ice breaking that is adjusted to student characteristics has proven effective in creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. Thus, this strategy can be used as an alternative in efforts to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in elementary schools.
